About this speaker

Dr Rivera is General Director of the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) in Mexico and Professor of Nutrition at the Mexican School of Public Health. Currently, he is a member of the Executive Board of the International Association of the National Institutes of Public Health (IANPHI), member of the EAT-Lancet Commission on healthy diets for sustainable food systems, he is also a member of the National Academy of Medicine (ANM), member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC), member of the American Nutrition Society (ASN) and member of the Latin American Nutrition Society (SLAN), of which he was President during the period 2015-2018. He is founding Director of the Center for Nutrition and Health Research (CINyS) of the INSP, he has been a member of the Global Steering Committee for the Prevention of Obesity and a member of the High-Level Panel of Experts on Food Security and Nutrition of the United Nations.
