About this Health talk

Co-convened by the World Health Organization and the Working Group on Food Safety - Action Track 1 Food Systems Summit.

Overview

The food system summit will discuss necessary transformations by rethinking the way the world produces, consumes and thinks about food. Food safety is part of that transformation.

In spite of the public health relevance of food safety, there is no indicator to track progress in this area at the global and national levels.  How should our future look like in terms of food safety accountability?

Objectives

  • Reflect challenges and benefits related to the development of an SDG indicator.
  • Discuss roles of various food safety stakeholders in shared accountabilities in food safety.
